While starring for UConn women’s basketball team, home-schooled student doesn’t forget her roots
Now in her junior season at the University of Connecticut, Moriah Jefferson is regarded by her coach as one of the best point guards in the country. That’s high praise for a player from the school best known as UConn, which has won nine Division I national titles and advanced to 15 Final Fours. Two years ago, Jefferson went from a home-school environment at her family’s Glenn Heights residence to earning a basketball scholarship at one of the NCAA’s most-decorated college athletic programs.
