Pacific LDS Homeschool Conference and Other News

The Pacific LDS Homeschool Conference is in its first year and will be held on August 25th. This one-day conference will be held at the Berean Baptist Church in Eugene, OR. Topics include The Science of Happy Kids and Happy Parenting by Adam Hailstone, How To Be The Superhero of Your Life by Stacey Lytle, and Homeschooling 101 by Kevin & Kelly Jones. From the Catholic Herald: Homeschooling families are invited to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, WI on Aug. 25 for Mass and a picnic. Confessions will be offered at 10:30 a.m. with Mass at 11 a.m. followed by a picnic lunch and games. The afternoon will conclude with a Holy Hour at 3:30 p.m. There is no cost and registration is not required.

The Maryland Homeschool Association will hold a community information meeting on August 23rd at 1 p.m. at the Odenton Public Library in Anne Arundel County. This is an opportunity for Maryland homeschoolers to meet Maryland State Department of Education staff who oversee homeschooling for the state and get an update on the homeschool sports participation bill.
