Homeschool Rocket Team Invited to NASA Student Launch Initiative

With their 12th place finish at the Team America Rocketry Challenge Final Fly-off in Washington D.C., the St. Monica Homeschool Student Rocketeers earned an invitation to the NASA Student Launch Initiative.

The team consists of three girls and five boys in middle and high school and was started by Dan Daniels when his oldest son, Justin, expressed an interest in amateur rocketry.

Although Dan and the kids had no experience with rocketry they designed, tested, and built their own 3-D printed rocket for the competition.

Working as a team was the toughest challenge and greatest lesson for the students and it propelled them to their 12th place finish.
