Homeschool Happenings in Maine, Online Classes for Homeschooling Parents

The Damariscotta River Association offers a monthly hands-on nature programs from September through June for homeschool families. Classes are held 10:00 a.m. to noon on the fourth Monday of each month (except October and December). Prepay for five classes and get a sixth class free. For ages 5 and up (younger may come). Historic St. Mary’s City, a museum and national historic park, will hold Homeschool Day 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27. There will be demonstrations and activities. The cost is $5 for ages 5 and older with one free adult, $10 for each additional adult for Friends members of the museum. Rooted in Language is currently taking registrations for classes that begin in November2018. The Laying a Path series is for parent educators, providing knowledge, strategies, and instructional plans for teaching language arts across all age and skill levels. Laying a Path includes 4 skill-training classes in each main area of Language Arts. Classes can be purchased as a bundle or separately.
