Homeschool Day, College STEM Courses, and Homeschool Gaming

The Virginia Living Museum offers homeschool students grades K through 12 a day of fun and engaging programs that highlight important natural and space science concepts. Programs are available for grades K-4. A lab about pond life is available for grades 5-12. All programs are curriculum and grade-level targeted and taught by the museum’s professional educators. All programs include a self-guided visit of museum exhibits and are offered at a discount to homeschool families. Visit thevlm.org for more information and to register.



Garrett College is offering a series of STEM classes specifically geared toward homeschool students in Garrett County and the surrounding tristate area. All of these classes will be held in the College’s new STEM building. Eight courses have been developed by faculty, adjunct faculty members, and affiliates of the College. These courses target the younger population, specifically ages 6-10 and 11-18. For information on future classes visit garrettcollege.edu

Homeschoolers ages 7+ are invited to the Cedar Park Library in Cedar Park, TX to get together and game! The Library will provide an Xbox, Wii U, and some laptops, but participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops, tablets, and devices as well. Homeschool Gaming will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. on October 1st and is free. More information is available at the library’s website.
