FPEA 2018 STEM Conference, Homeschool Palooza & Other News

The Florida Parent Educators Association is holding a STEM-focused conference on September 7&8 at the Sundial Beach Resort in Sanibel, Florida. Sherri Seligson and Catie Frates will lead discussions on Marine Biology, Oceanography, and Marine Conservation. A teen and children’s program is also included. On Monday, July 30th at the DeKalb Public Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the DeKalb County Home Educators will hold the DeKalb Homeschool Palooza. Vendors, workshops, and more are part of this free event.

Entrepreneur Richard Lorenzen outlines how homeschooling helped him start a multi-million dollar business. In an article on CNBC, Lorenzen said homeschooling afforded him opportunities he wouldn’t otherwise have had in a public school. He also attributes his success to waking up early, reading a lot, having a daily routine.
