Lubbock Titans’ Senior Scott Kostedt scored 50 points in the Lubbock Titans’ 95-72 win over the Austin Royals in the Texas homeschool state final. The senior is averaging about six steals a game and is a major key when using the press. The Lubbock Titans will play in the National Christian Homeschool Basketball Tournament starting Mar. 7.
One hundred wins in three years is a milestone many high school athletics programs could only dream of attaining — and one the Aggieland Panthers varsity boys basketball team secured Thursday with a 72-46 win.
While the team has been steadily climbing the ranks of high school basketball, it does have a leg up on other teams in the community — its players are homeschooled.
Recee’ Caldwell earned a spot in the 2014 McDonald’s All-American game after her senior year at FEAST (homeschool), where she averaged 20.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 3.4 steals and 1.3 blocks per game in 2013-14 to lead the Patriots to a 31-6 overall record.
